Illinois Pharmacists / Pharmacy Technicians
In support of improving patient care, NetCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation: Board of Pharmacy accepts courses from any provider who is ACPE accredited.
Continuing Education Requirement
× Implicit Bias Awareness and Cultural Competency Course Options
NetCE will report your credit to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), provided that you add your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth to your account. If you select to opt out of entering this information, you agree to not hold NetCE responsible for reporting your credit.
Pharmacists are required 30 hours every two years, all of which may be completed by home study.*
- All licensees are required one (1) hour specific to sexual harassment prevention every two years.
- Beginning January 1, 2023, a health care professional who has continuing education requirements for license registration or renewals must complete at least a one-hour course in training on implicit bias awareness per renewal period. A health care professional may count this one hour for completion of this course toward meeting the minimum credit hours required for continuing education.
- NEWBeginning with renewals on and after January 1, 2025, health care professionals have a new statutorily mandated continuing education requirement of at least one (1) hour in cultural competency. Completion deadline is within 3 biennial renewal periods. A health care professional may count this one hour for completion of this course toward meeting the minimum credit hours required for continuing education. (PA 103-0531 enacted 8/11/2023 effective 1/1/2025)
- Pharmacists authorized to administer vaccines/immunizations are required two (2) hours of ACPE-approved, immunization-related continuing pharmacy education during each State licensing period.
Registered Certified Pharmacy Technicians are required 20 hours every two years (10 hours annually).
- One (1) hour in pharmacy law every renewal.
- One (1) hour in patient safety every renewal.
- All licensees are required one (1) hour specific to sexual harassment prevention every renewal.
